My name is Alexandria Bursiek. I received a Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University in Journalism with minors in communications and English.
I recently worked as a Communications Specialist for Faith Technologies. My specialty was video communications; I filmed, edited and distributed promotional and educational videos internally to Faith’s employees. I also edited and published company podcasts, wrote content and assisted in the creation and distribution of the weekly company online newsletter.
Prior to Faith, I worked as an intern for the O'Brien Fellowship in Public Service Journalism. I worked under Gary Harki from the Virginia Pilot with two other interns as we attempt to report on mental health in jail.
I have interned at The Times Villager Newsgroup where I worked with another student to revamp the paper's website. I also wrote community articles about people and events and updated the website weekly. I have also interned at Oneida Nations of Wisconsin, a sovereign nation in northern Wisconsin. I worked with the Governmental Affairs and Communications Department. I helped with a campaign to improve reach on social media platforms. I worked as a reporting intern at the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service. I was responsible for reporting and writing on events and people within central city Milwaukee.

On a more personal level, I love reading, writing, travel, coloring, movies and food. I spent a summer studying Irish literature in Ireland, and I can’t wait to go back. My favorite books are honest and raw memoirs, specifically The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, Educated by Tara Westover and You Don’t Have to Say You Love Me by Sherman Alexie. I believe in the power of storytelling and I enjoy creating content with all forms of media.
